I love estate sales, flea markets, and yard sales. I don't always find a vintage masterpiece, but I always manage to find something. So, I decided to post what I manage to scoop up each week.
This weeks sale took place in Port Huron, when you arrive at the house you are never sure what type of home it will be, but I always am happy to see an older home.
Part of my fascination with estate sales is glimpsing into the lives of other people. This weeks sale took place in a home that had not been touched since probably 1970. There was so much stuff crammed into a tiny space, but after some digging there were some real treasures.
I found a couple of little things, a magazine rack that needs a new coat of paint, a flour sifter and this little milk glass dish.
This little jar was so filthy that I hated to touch it when I had to pick it up, but for four dollars I decided it was worth it. With a little soaking in soap and water it came out quite nice. Happily I had a space in my bedroom that needed it.
